Red Devils Rout Robert Morris-Peoria in Three
PEORIA, Ill. -- Playing its first non-conference match in more than a month, the Eureka College volleyball team earned a 25-19, 25-17, 25-20 victory over Robert Morris-Peoria, Saturday afternoon at the Riverplex in Peoria, Ill. The victory was Eureka’s third straight in the all-time series against the Eagles.
Sophomore outside hitter Peyton McAtee (Morton, Ill./Morton H.S.) led an efficient Eureka (6-15) offense with eight kills. Senior Brittany Feger (Heyworth, Ill./Heyworth H.S.) and junior Lindsey Hinshaw (Hudson, Ill./Normal West H.S.) each added six kills. Senior setter Annette Crady (Germantown Hills, Ill./Metamora H.S.) recorded 28 assists, the fourth straight match and sixth time in her last eight outings she’s recorded at least 25 assists. The Red Devils finished the contest with a team hitting percentage of .221, Eureka’s best effort on an opponent’s home floor since Sept. 1 at Lincoln Christian.
The victory improves the Red Devils to 3-0 all-time against Robert Morris-Peoria. Eureka will host the Eagles on Thursday, Nov. 3 in the Red Devils’ annual Senior Night.
Eureka will be back in action Wednesday in a non-conference match at the Reagan Center against Lincoln Christian. The contest is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
