Robert Morris Sinks Volleyball in Four
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Eureka College juniors Becca Idell (Toluca, Ill./Fieldcrest H.S.) and Courtney Kincaid (Green Valley, Ill./Midwest Central) each set career-bests with 22 digs and newcomer Kelli Dunne (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods H.S./Illinois Central) paced the Red Devils with a career-best 13 kills, but Robert Morris-Springfield broke away to earn a 26-24, 24-26, 25-23, 25-12 victory over Eureka, Tuesday night in Springfield, Ill.
Sophomore Eileen Bollinger (Custer Park, Ill./Reed-Custer H.S.) set a new career-best with 16 assists and matched her previous career-high with three service aces. Classmate Emily Campbell (Pontiac, Ill./Pontiac H.S.) also had 16 helpers to share the team lead with Bollinger.
The loss drops Eureka to 1-2 on the season. The Red Devils will return to action this weekend, traveling to Terre Haute, Ind. to participate in the Rose-Hulman Invitational for the fifth consecutive season. The Red Devils will play their first of four matches Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. versus Franklin.
