Volleyball Falls in SLIAC Finale at Greenville
GREENVILLE, Ill. – The Eureka College volleyball team played its final St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match of the 2011 season on Tuesday night at Greenville, falling in three games to the Panthers. The decision gave Eureka a final league record of 6-10.
Eureka sophomore Peyton McAtee (Morton, Ill./Morton H.S.) paced the Red Devils with nine kills and a pair of service aces. Senior Brittany Feger (Heyworth, Ill./Heyworth H.S.) chipped in with seven kills. Feger now has 679 kills for her career and needs eight kills in Thursday’s season finale to tie Kelli Adams Stanley (2004-05) for the 10th place on the all-time Eureka list.
Greenville’s victory, which secured a share of the regular season SLIAC championship for the Panthers for the second consecutive season, was its ninth straight over the Red Devils.
Eureka will play its final match of the 2011 season Thursday at the Reagan Center against Robert Morris-Peoria at 7 p.m. The Red Devils will host their annual Senior Night ceremony prior to the match, honoring Paige Fannon (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria H.S.), Feger and Annette Crady (Germantown Hills, Ill./Metamora H.S.).
