Eureka College Receives Nearly $2 Million Grant for Student Success Initiatives
EUREKA, IL. Eureka College is a proud recipient of a nearly $2 million/5-year grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s Title III: Strengthening Institutions Program (SIP). This is the first-ever U.S. Department of Education grant that the college has received.
The SIP grant will help to advance Eureka College’s strategic initiatives around student success, including significantly strengthening its wraparound support services.
In addition to increased staff support in areas like career development and coaching/advising, Eureka College will develop a pre-college program, and the Pathway Achievement for Career Engagement and Success (EC PACES) program that better and more intentionally connects the dots between curricular, co-curricular, and career exploration and success.
“We are thrilled to be a SIP grant recipient, and to receive a level of support that will be instrumental in not only helping retain our post-COVID students whose needs are greater, but also in better preparing students to identify and launch their careers and lives beyond college, said Dr. Jamel Wright, President of Eureka College. “SIP will accelerate our efforts in implementing a more integrated learning model that prioritizes multiple and diverse pathways to earning a bachelor’s degree and more hands-on experiences.”
The services funded by the grant provide additional support to students while transitioning from high school graduate to college student to early career professional.
