Admissions Counselor

 

Position
Eureka College invites applications for the position of Admissions Counselor to recruit and work with prospective students.  This is a 40 hour per week full-time position with an excellent benefits package.

 

The College
Eureka is a small residential liberal arts college located equidistant between the cities of Peoria and Bloomington/Normal. The campus is situated on 112 wooded acres with 24 academic and residential buildings in the city of Eureka, Illinois. Focused on “excellence in learning, service, and leadership,” Eureka graduates include forty-two college presidents, seven governors and members of Congress, and the 40th President of the United States. Eureka currently has almost 700 students enrolled in 30 degree programs and has over 5,000 living alumni.  The College is cited as one of fifty national “All-American Colleges” by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute. Chartered in 1855 to provide a
“non-sectarian liberal arts” education by abolitionists who were members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Eureka was the first college in Illinois and the third in the nation to admit men and women on an equal basis (click for additional information about the Christian Church and the affiliation with Eureka College).

 

Position Requirements
Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.  Strong organizational, oral, and written communications skills as well as an understanding and commitment to a small, private liberal arts college are necessary.  The ability to motivate and work with high school students and their families is essential.  Some travel is required.
