ASSISTANT PROFESSORSHIP - ORGANIC CHEMISTRY
Position Tenure-track or one-year visiting professorship, with specialization in Organic Chemistry.
The College Eureka is a small residential liberal arts college located equidistant between the cities of Peoria and Bloomington/Normal. The campus is situated on 112 wooded acres with 24 academic and residential buildings in the city of Eureka, Illinois. Focused on “excellence in learning, service, and leadership,” Eureka College has had a major impact on American life, with alumni who have had successful careers in education, business, management, the arts and community service. Eureka's most famous graduate is Ronald Reagan, Class of 1932, who went on to become the fortieth President of the United States of America. Eureka currently has over 650 students enrolled in 30 degree programs and has over 5,000 living alumni. Position Requirements The successful candidate will be able to teach both lecture and laboratory sections of organic chemistry, quantitative analysis, second semester general chemistry, environmental chemistry, and contribute to the inorganic chemistry course. A biochemistry course alternates yearly with the environmental chemistry course. The Science and Mathematics division has an FTIR, HPLC, and atomic absorption spectrometer, as well as access to an NMR. There are limited funds available for start-up equipment.
