Eureka currently has almost 700 students enrolled in 30 degree programs and has over 5,000 living alumni.  The College is cited as one of fifty national “All-American Colleges” by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute. Chartered in 1855 to provide a “non-sectarian liberal arts” education by abolitionists who were members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Eureka was the first college in Illinois and the third in the nation to admit men and women on an equal basis (click for additional information about the Christian Church and the affiliation with Eureka College).
