The Performing and Visual Arts Scholarships are designed to recognize those students with outstanding talent in drama, music, or art. Grants/scholarships are awarded based on talent in those areas.

Vocal Music ScholarshipsAnnual vocal music awards, in the amount of $1000.00, are currently granted to all incoming majors in Music. These awards are annually renewable based up on the following criteria which will be assessed at the end of each academic semester.

Applied Piano ScholarshipsAnnual awards in piano performance, in the amount of $1,000.00, are currently awarded to all incoming majors in Music. These awards are annually renewable based upon the following criteria which will be assessed at the end of each academic semester.

Art ScholarshipsAll freshman Art majors, minors and double majors are eligible for a $1000.00 annually renewable portfolio-based scholarship. A portfolio review, one letter of reference from a former teacher and an artist’s statement are required before the scholarship can be awarded. The statement should include one page of career goals and a description of the art that is included in the portfolio. The portfolio review usually takes place either in the fall or spring semester prior to the first week of classes in the fall semester of the freshman year. Transfer students beginning their first semester at Eureka College are also eligible for a portfolio scholarship award.

As Assistant Professor of Music at Eureka College, Pam is an Instructor of applied piano, lecturer in music theory, and staff pianist/accompanist. Mrs. Bates joined the faculty in 1996. She received a B.M.E. (music education), B. M. (piano performance), and M.M. (piano performance) from Bradley University. Mrs. Bates' teaching experience includes 15 years of public school music, 2 years at Illinois Central College (class piano), 11 years at Bradley University (applied piano), and over 20 years of private studio teaching. Other professional experiences in the central Illinois area include 18 years as a church musician (choir director/accompanist), choral director and accompanist for the Peoria Civic Opera, Eastlight Theater accompanist, Peoria Symphony Concerto Competition accompanist, Bradley Community Chorus accompanist, and accompanist for student recitals and concert performances at both Eureka College and Bradley University. She is a member of the Illinois State Music Teachers Association, has served as an adjudicator for local and state music contests (IHSA and IGSMA). and as a clinician for the Peoria Area Music Teachers Association
