Anyone who removes materials from the library without checking them out first is subject to disciplinary action. The library has an electronic security system which is set to detect the removal of library materials that have not been checked out properly. When unauthorized materials are removed from the library, an alarm sounds and the exit gate locks. Anyone exiting at that time is asked to return to the Circulation desk to check for materials that have not been processed or approved for removal from the library. Disciplinary action will be taken against any individual who fails to return to the Circulation Desk when the alarm sounds.
Any library materials that are damaged or mutilated must be replaced by the patron responsible for the damage, and that patron may also be subject to disciplinary action. Offenses against the library such as theft, mutilation, and vandalism are defined under Illinois State Statute 16B and are subject to prosecution by the State's Attorney.
Reserve materials for Eureka College courses are kept at the Circulation Desk and/or placed on e-reserve through the classic version of the library's online catalog. Students are required to check out materials with their student id cards and abide by the loan periods if using physical copies.
Twenty-five cents per hour for all reserve materials.
