How to use EC reference databases from off-Campus
Due to licensing agreements, access to some databases is restricted to Eureka College students, faculty, and staff. When such a restriction applies, the user is prompted to enter his/her EC login credentials. Each user is responsible for any activity with his/her own login account.
Common Login Issues
1. Your web browser must accept cookies (i.e. some authentication-related info) from the EC server. Otherwise, login will fail until you resolve this issue at your end.
2. If your home router or the Internet Provider blocks necessary access "ports", you will not be able to access online database pages. If this is the case, this issue must also be resolved at your end.
3. You will need to enter your network login and password in order to access the databases through the proxy server. This is the same login and password that is used in order to access lab or office computers on campus. If you do not know your login or password, please request the information from EC computer services.
Your login expires when you close the browser. Please make sure to close all browser windows when you are done.
