Washington Mayor Gary Manier is the recipient of the inaugural President’s Servant Leader Award from Eureka College. Manier received the award from college President J. David Arnold at the annual Reagan Dinner at the college Feb. 13.
The award initiated by Arnold this year honors people from all spheres of leadership for their values of learning, service and leadership, which reflect Eureka College’s mission and core values. The award will be presented periodically to people locally, nationally and internationally who are role models of servant leadership.
Manier has led recovery efforts in Washington since an EF-4 tornado swept through the community Nov. 17.
The Reagan Dinner recognized the 103rd anniversary of the birth of Ronald Reagan, who graduated from Eureka College in 1932. Keynote speaker was James Strock, a nationally recognized expert in servant leadership philosophy and CEO of Serve to Lead.
