Eureka College theater professor to discuss life of ‘Peter Pan’ author

Assistant Professor of Theatre Marty LynchEureka College assistant professor of theater Marty Lynch will present “The Man Who Built Neverland: A Glimpse Into the World of J.M. Barrie” at 3:15 p.m. Oct. 23 in the Gammon Room in Melick Library. It is free and open to the public.

Lynch will offer a brief biography of Barrie and the circumstances of Barrie’s life during the time he was writing “Peter Pan.” Lynch will explore how the book evolved, where the elements of the story came from and how the book affected those around Barrie.

The presentation is the second of four Eureka College Faculty Colloquiums this academic year. Others will be:

  • “Educating Millennials: Are They Really Different From Previous Generations?” by associate professor of psychology Ann Fulop Feb. 26.

  • “Discovering Pi” by assistant professor of mathematics Richard Hasenauer April 9.
