Lisa Fischer receives Eureka College staff award

Lisa Fischer received the Eureka College staff recognition award at the annual holiday dinner for faculty and staff Dec. 10. She is director of residence life and an assistant dean of students. She has been employed at the college since 2004.

Fischer oversees housing assignments and the resident advisors’ program that fosters community among students living in the residence halls by providing educational and recreational programs and addressing student issues.
               
Fischer is the staff adviser for the Up 'til Dawn student organization that raises funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  She also oversees the college’s annual Angel Tree Party for local children.

Fischer graduated from Springfield High School. She has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree, both from Bradley University, and a master’s degree in college student personnel administration from Illinois State University.    

One staff award is given annually to recognize an exemplary staff member. Nominations and the selection are made by students, faculty and staff. The recognition includes cash awards for the winner’s use and for use within the winner’s department.
