Kristen Beck Sullivan, Jami Curley receive Eureka College alumni awards
Kristen Beck Sullivan of Norwalk, Conn., and Jami Curley of Mount Olive received Eureka College Outstanding Young Alumni Awards during college homecoming activities in September.
The annual awards are given to alumni who have graduated within the past 15 years and who have shown outstanding commitment to their professions, communities, churches and alma mater, according to Shellie Schwanke, director of alumni relations.
Kristen Beck Sullivan
Sullivan graduated in 1996. She is a partner at Deloitte LLP financial services firm. She is a member of the Junior League of Stamford-Norwalk, the American Cancer Society and College Summit, a national non-profit organization that helps high schools raise their college enrollment rates by building a college-going culture. She was recognized in 2009 as one of 40 leaders under 40 in Fairfield County Connecticut. She was a member of the Eureka College Alumni Board and has given presentations to accounting classes at the college.
Many of Sullivan’s family members, including a great-grandfather, grandmother and parents, attended or were employed at Eureka College.
Jami Curley
Curley graduated in 1995. She earned a doctorate in social work and is an associate professor of social work at Saint Louis University, teaching courses concentrating on the family and community. Her academic interests include the social economic development of low-income families and children through asset-based strategies domestically and internationally.
Curley is vice president of the international humanitarian and relief agency Project Restore. She works on sustainable development projects in developing countries, including water, health, education and hunger issues. She volunteers for church programs to feed the homeless and visit nursing home residents.
Curley’s daughter also graduated from Eureka College.
