‘Stories From 'neath the Elms: Eureka College 1940-1970’ Available at Eureka College Bookstore
book by ec professor emeritus
Eureka College English professor emeritus Loren Logsdon’s book "Stories from 'neath the Elms: Eureka College 1940-1970” was released this month and is available at the Eureka College Bookstore. The cost is $25.
The book captures the memories of more than 200 Eureka College alumni, faculty and staff from the 1940s through the 1960s. In their own words, they recall special professors, college pranks and traditions, the campus during the World War II years, meeting lifetime loves and many other topics.
“These are stories of human beings, not an official history of the college,” said Logsdon, who began contacting alumni and compiling their stories in early 2010 at the request of Eureka College President J. David Arnold. “All of the stories combined weave a rich tapestry of Eureka College during those three decades,” Logsdon said.
The bookstore is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, contact the bookstore at (309) 467-6426.
