EC books Comedy Central’s ‘The Daily Show’

Comedian and actor Aasif Mandvi, a correspondent for the Comedy Central channel’s “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” will speak at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 17 in the Cerf Center at Eureka College.

Mandvi’s presentation titled “Behind the Scenes of the Real Fake News” takes audiences inside the hit primetime news satire show to see how the writers and correspondents analyze the best and worst of each day's news to deliver insight into the world of politics and international relations. The presentation will include clips and outtakes from the show. As a correspondent, Mandvi brings a hilarious, skewering perspective on politics and foreign affairs in his entertaining and insightful "on-location" reporting.

Mandvi has a wide range of entertainment industry experience, having appeared in films and television shows and as an Obie Award-winner for his one-man play, “Sakina's Restaurant.”
