Symposium to highlight students’ summer applied learning experiences

September 24 - 6:30 pm - Becker Auditorium

Eureka College students will share information about their summer practical learning experiences at the second annual Summer Experience Symposium at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 24 in Becker Auditorium in the Cerf Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Students have the option of either speaking about their work or exhibiting posters that depict highlights of their experiences.

“Students did amazing work over the summer, whether it was traveling to Russia to participate in health care work or teaching migrant workers’ children right here in Central Illinois,” said Shari Rich, director of applied learning and associate dean of students. “We invite everyone to come hear about the unique experiences these students had as part of internships, mentorships and other opportunities for applied learning as part of their education at Eureka College.”

Presenting at the symposium is a requirement for students who receive Ronald Reagan and Sandifer Fellowships. Recipients of other fellowships and students who interned, participated in significant community service projects or studied abroad also are invited to participate, Rich said.
