Chorale, Chamber Singers named at Eureka College

Ensembles to host fall concert, Renaissance Christmas Dinner

 

The Eureka College Music Department has selected students to sing with the Chamber Singers and the Chorale during the 2009-2010 academic year.

Selected as members of both the Chorale and the Chamber Singers are Paul Heine and Devyn Whitmore, both of Pekin; Joshua Arbogast of Dunlap; Jason Beach of Danvers; Ryan Callison of LaMoille; Becky Collins of Monee; Boyd Critz of East Peoria; John Dean of El Paso; Sarah Dillard of Hanna City; Sara Dvorsky of Peoria; Kaelen Henry of Eureka; Chelsea Kaufman of  Naperville; Evan Kingery of Heyworth; Mark Kline of Lewistown; Jenny Leezer of Toulon; Lisa Lindenfelser of Tremont; Nicole Mansfield of Dry Ridge, Ky.; R.J. McHenry of Washington; Ben Miller of Roanoke, Va.; Kate Mills of Mapleton; Emily Schmidt of Steward; Andre Schoepke of Varna; and Maryssa Switzer of Magnolia.

The Chamber Singers specialize in chamber choral and vocal works from the Renaissance era to the contemporary period. In addition to local performances, the Chamber Singers have toured domestically and internationally, where they have established a reputation of excellence in choral music performance, said director Dr. Joseph D. Henry.

The Chamber Singers will host their 21st annual Renaissance Christmas Dinner at 6:30 p.m. December 4 and 5 in Eureka College’s Cerf Center. Tickets are $25 for adults and $13 for children 12 and under. Tickets may be reserved by calling (309) 467-6407.

The Chorale and Chamber Singers will perform their fall concert at 4 p.m. Nov. 15 in the Cerf Center. The piano accompanist will be Eureka College music professor Pamela Bates.

The Chamber Singers and Chorale will participate in a singing tour in Italy in May.
