Audience members to guess whodunit as part of ‘Clue: The Musical’ at Eureka College
October 6 - 11 - Pritchard Theatre
“Clue: The Musical,” an interactive adaptation of the Parker Brothers board game, will be staged at 7 p.m. Oct. 6 through 10 and 2 p.m. Oct. 11 in Pritchard Theatre at Eureka College.
Characters will include the suspects from the board game and a detective who will help the audience determine which character committed the murder, in what room and with what weapon, like in the game, said director and theater professor Holly Rocke. Audience members will receive forms to help them keep track of clues given throughout the show, Rocke said.
In addition, at the beginning of the show three audience members will select cards depicting the murderer, weapon and room, and the cards will be concealed until the show’s conclusion. There are a possible 216 endings, Rocke said.
“The action takes place in the mansion of narrator Mr. Boddy, who, in effect, is master of ceremonies at his own murder,” Rocke said. “The songs and choreography are lively and comedic. The show, which runs only 90 minutes, is a good production for families to attend together,” she said.
Cast members are Stephanie Papesh of Bedford Park as Mr. Boddy; Catherine Davis of Otterbein, Ind., as the detective; Maryssa Switzer of Magnolia as Mrs. Peacock; Doug Collins of Albany, Ore, as Professor Plum; Megan Santman of Peru as Miss Scarlet; Jessica Whitington of Oakwood as Colonel Mustard; Brittany Sven of Fox Lake as Mrs. White; and Jason Beach of Danvers as Mr. Green. Chorus members are Kerri Rae Hinman of Tremont, Jenny Leezer of Toulon, Taryn Hefley of Secor and Kaytlin Mott of Elliott.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students. Reservations should be made by phoning (309) 467-6363.
