Alumni director Shellie Schwanke receives Eureka College staff award

Shellie Schwanke of Eureka received the Eureka College staff recognition award at the college's annual holiday dinner for faculty and staff Dec. 11. Schwanke is a 1987 graduate of Eureka College and has been employed at the college since 1989. She became director of alumni relations in October. She formerly was coordinator of creative services and assistant to the director of college relations.

In naming Schwanke as the recipient, Eureka College Vice President for Finance and Facilities Marc Pasteris cited her exuberance for the college.  “Shellie tells the Eureka College story with sincere passion,” he said. “She passes this ardor to students, faculty, staff and alumni within the college community and encourages them to maximize their learning, service and leadership experiences.”

One staff award is given annually to recognize an exemplary staff member. Nominations and the selection are made by students, faculty and staff. The recognition includes cash awards for the winner’s use and for use within the winner’s department.
