EC graduate Nick Easley to lecture, exhibit artwork at BroMenn

Exhibit through July 5 - Bloomington, IL

The BroMenn Healthcare System, in conjunction with the Eureka College Art Department and the Van Leer Art Society of Immanuel Bible Foundation, will hold a reception for recent Eureka College graduate Nick Easley of Belvidere as part of its ongoing “Art in the Atrium” program on May 21 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, 1304 Franklin Ave., Normal, in the Heart Center Classrooms.

Easley’s artwork will be displayed from May 5 through July 5 throughout three floors of BroMenn Regional Medical Center’s Atrium.

Easley’s work is based on a Eureka College internship that he took to Kenya, working in developmental studies. In his time spent in Kenya, Easley discovered a newfound inspiration and portrays his experiences through abstract artwork.

The reception will include a 7 p.m. lecture by Easley, in which he will describe his experiences in Kenya. Easley will also provide a tour of his work and explain the inspiration behind each painting. The event will feature light refreshments as well as handmade paper bead jewelry that will sold to benefit Easley’s developmental organization.

Easley is also the founder and president of the Strategic Sustainable Partnership Program Inc., a non-profit organization that aims to provide applicable solutions to impoverished people abroad through cooperation with aid organizations, private donors and Microfinance Institution. Those interested can find out more at www.sspp-inc.org, which also features some of Easley’s paintings.

The reception is free and open to the public. For more information, call BroMenn Spiritual Care Services at (309) 268-5499.
