CollegeHumor.com Comedian to Speak at Eureka College

Comedian Josh Ruben, who is best-known for his digital comedy shorts for CollegeHumor.com, will speak at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9 in the Cerf Center at Eureka College.

Ruben performs in the fully improvised Web series “Hello My Name Is” in which he’s put in professional make-up and spontaneously creates a character while being interviewed by CollegeHumor writer Pat Cassels.

Ruben’s presentation will include highlights from "Hello My Name Is.”  The director, actor, voice-over artist, writer and producer also will discuss producing popular Web content, making viral videos for CollegeHumor, directing comedy and the business of acting in New York City.

Ruben has appeared in MTV's “The CollegeHumor Show,” independent films “Worst Friends,” “Goodbye Baby” opposite Kevin Corrigan, “Obvious Child” opposite Jenny Slate, “One Life to Live” and “Chappelle’s Show.”  He starred in the Web series “Troopers” opposite NBC's “Parks and Recreation” co-star Aubrey Plaza.  He has directed commercials for Time Warner Cable, SoBe, and Fast Society. In 2008 he replaced Zach Braff as the voice of Wendy's "red wig" campaign. With his sketch group Dutch West, he has written, directed, produced and performed in comedy shorts for Super Deluxe, Tribeca Productions and Atom Films.              

Ruben produced three music videos with NBC news anchor Brian Williams and his daughter Allison Williams. The first release, "Mad Men Theme...With a Twist," was featured in multiple Internet publications and on NBC's “The Today Show” and received hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube.
