Eureka College Republicans to Host Voter Education Event March 5

Illinois House Minority Leader Tom Cross to Speak

Illinois House of Representatives Minority Leader Tom Cross (R-Oswego) will speak at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 5 in the Cerf Center at Eureka College. The free event is hosted by the Eureka College Republicans student group as part of its voter education campaign.

A panel discussion about the importance of voting and being involved in one’s community will follow Cross’ talk. Panel participants will include public officials from northern Illinois and Eureka City Council members Jim Meares and Jeff McSweeney. Questions will be taken from the audience.

A meet-and-greet with area and local public officials and candidates will cap the event.

“The upcoming April election is just as important as the general election,” said Eureka College Republicans member Elizabeth Snobeck of Yorkville. “This event is a great way to meet area candidates and learn more about the importance of voting and public service.”
