Murder Mystery Up Next for Eureka College Theater

february 22 - 27 - Pritchard theatre

Agatha Christie’s classic murder mystery “The Mousetrap” will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 22 through 26 and 2 p.m. Feb. 27 in Pritchard Theatre at Eureka College.

The production features a young couple opening their newly inherited home, Monkswell Manor, as a hotel. As each guest arrives, it becomes increasingly clear that something is amiss.  When the final visitor appears with the stated intent of discovering a murderer on the loose, Monkswell Manor is turned on its head as just about everyone could be the prime suspect.

The play opened in the West End of London in 1952, and has been running continuously since then. It has the longest initial run of any play in history, with more than 24,000 performances so far.

Cast as the couple are Alyssa Martin of Peoria and Skyler Hankey of Watseka.
Rounding out the cast are Scott Herman of Park Ridge, Kesenia Marten of Litchfield, Wesley Deibner of Wyoming, Christine Funk of St. Charles, Ryan Hubbert of Morris, Jacob Coombs of East Peoria and Bradley Gabehart of Streator.

Theater professor Marty Lynch, who joined the Eureka College faculty in August, will direct. Erin Cochran of Collinsville is assistant director, and Rebecca Collins of Monee is stage manager.
