Eureka College Student Annah Sparks to Hold Senior Art Show

april 18 - 22

Eureka College student Annah Kraus Sparks of Washington will hold her senior art show titled “Freedom” April 18-22 at Denhart’s Washington Room, 111 Washington Square, Washington. The show will be open from
3 to 6 p.m. daily. Sparks will be present during those times.

Sparks’ exhibit includes photography and acrylic paintings that represent freedom in self-expression. Her paintings are inspired by the abstract expressionist movement and the works of Jackson Pollock.

“My style evokes a sense of movement, and my paintings demonstrate my passion to be free from the pressures of those around me and remain the person God created me to be,” Sparks said.

Sparks is majoring in art at Eureka College. An art exhibit is required of all art majors.

Sparks graduated from Eureka High School in 2005. She is a daughter of Jean Allen of East Peoria and Roger Kraus of Carlock.

Annah Sparks’ acrylic painting titled “A Note” is inspired by the artist’s love of music and her practice of listening to music that she says encourages the spirit instead of warring on the soul. The Eureka College senior’s exhibit runs April 18-22 at Denhart’s Washington Room on the Square in Washington.
