Heart of Illinois Wind quintet to perform ‘Bach to Bugs’ concert at Eureka College
March 1 - 7:30 pm - McCallister hall
Cartoon character Bugs Bunny will figure into a Heart of Illinois Wind Quintet concert at Eureka College March 1. The free concert titled “Bach to Bugs” will be at 7:30 p.m. in McCallister Hall in the Chapel.
The repertoire will feature songs from the “Looney Tunes” cartoons, “Little Fugue” by Bach, selections from “Mother Goose Suite” by Ravel, “Quintet for Piano and Winds” by Mozart, selections from “The Barber of Seville” by Rossini and “Five Easy Dances,” featuring polka, tango, bolero, waltz and rumba.
Members of the quintet are Grant Gillett, bassoon; Nancy Gillett, oboe; Sherril Diepenbrock, clarinet; Randi Lancaster, flute; Phillip Lancaster, horn; and Myrna Bietz, piano.
