Alumni Court

Alumni Court is an all-female hall. Alumni Court is made up of four wings: B, C, D, and E. Alumni B and C are strictly for female freshmen students. Alumni D is composed of female upperclass students, and Alumni E is a mix of female freshmen and upperclass students. Each floor has its own lounge. Alumni Court also houses a small 24-hour fitness center, the campus Learning Center, and a study area in the basement. Washers and dryers, as well as soda and vending machines can be found in this hall.

The figures above show the typical set up and dimensions of a room in Alumni Court. Some students choose to build, buy, or rent a loft to raise their bed up off of the floor in order to provide more space. Other than the bed, the room furniture in this building is not moveable.

 

 

Founders' Court

Founders' Court houses male students. It is comprised of Darst Hall, Deweese Hall, Ford Hall, and Myers Hall. Darst and Deweese typically house male freshmen residents while Ford is a mix of freshmen and upperclass males. Myers is home to upperclass males. Each floor in Founders' Court has a small lounge. Founder's Court is located next door to Ben Major Hall, which houses a 24-hour computer lab, wireless access, laundry room, and a lounge with vending and soda machines.

The figure to the left shows the typical set up and dimensions of a room in Founders' Court. In Founders', students can choose to bunk their bed. Some students also choose to build, buy, or rent a loft to provide more space. Other than the bed frame, furniture in Founders' Court is not moveable.

 

 

Langston Hall

 

Langston Hall is a co-ed residence hall for upperclass and transfer students interested in suite style living. Students are provided with a single room and share a bathroom with one other person. Langston Hall contains one large lounge on each floor. Classes, large study groups, and organizational meetings are often held in Langston. The dorm provides two small laundry rooms each holding 2 washers and 2 dryers. Soda and vending machines are also located within the building.

These figures show the typical set up and dimensions of a suite in Langston Hall. Each student has their own sink in their room. The furniture is all moveable and "stackable". Students may request pegs to raise their bed up over their desk and dresser to provide more space in the room. Although all of the furniture may be moved, it must remain in the room. Each room in Langston has its own heating/AC unit and students are able to control their own room temperature.

EC Residential life director

 

Lisa Fischer is Director of Residence Life for the College, as well as a Lecturer in Interdisciplinary Studies. She received her B.S. degree in Marketing and her M.B.A. both from Bradley University. She is currently pursuing her second master's degree in College Student Personnel Administration from Illinois State University. Lisa is also currently helping to advise "Up Til Dawn" on campus, a new organization supporting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
