Alumni Court

Alumni Court just reopened in January 2013 after being closed for a year for some extensive renovations. Alumni Court predominantly houses female freshmen and female upper-class residents, with opportunity for male freshmen and male upper-class residents to put in a preference to live in this space as well.

Alumni Court (B, C, D, E) – 14’11″ X 10’11″ / (Window Dimensions (1): 30″W X 60″L)

Alumni Court is coed by floor, and there are not females and males living on the same floor. Alumni Court is composed of 4 wings: B, C, D, and E. Each wing has 2 small floors of 15 residents that share a community restroom. Each floor in Alumni Court has a large lounge with study and social space, as well as a flat panel TV. Alumni Court also houses the campus Learning Center (tutoring services) and the newly renovated Harrod Lounge.

Washers and dryers (free of charge to residents) as well as soda, vending, and a coffee machine can also be found in Alumni Court. As a result of recent renovations, part of Alumni Court is now handicapped accessible. Alumni Court (with the exception of the Harrod Lounge) is kept locked 24 hours a day and students gain access through a secure key swipe card system.

Founder’s Court

Founders Court was closed for Summer 2011 for several renovations, including all new room and lounge furniture. Founders Court predominantly houses male freshmen and male upper-class residents, with opportunity for female freshmen and female upper-class residents to put in a preference to live in Founders Court as well.

Founders Court (Darst, Deweese, Ford, Myers) – 14’7″ X 11’7″ / (Window Dimensions (2): 34″W X 65″L)

This facility is coed by floor, and there are not females and males living on the same floor. Founders Court is comprised of Darst Hall, Deweese Hall, Ford Hall, and Myers Hall. Each wing has 2 small floors of 16 residents that share a community restroom.

Each floor in Founders Court has a small lounge, and most floors have a flat panel TV. Founders Court is located next to Ben Major, a small building which houses washers and dryers (free of charge to residents), a computer lab, large lounge with a big flat-screen TV and fireplace access, and vending and soda machines. Ben Major is accessible 24 hours per day.

Langston Hall

Langston Hall is a coed residence hall for upper-class and transfer residents interested in suite style living. This building is comprised of 3 floors each housing between 20 and 26 residents. Langston is comprised of private rooms that share a bathroom with just one other resident. Each resident in Langston has their own sink with a shared shower and toilet in between two rooms.

Each floor in Langston has a large lounge with a TV. Large study groups and meetings are often held in Langston. Washers and dryers (free of charge to residents) are provided on each floor in Langston. This building also has an elevator and is handicapped accessible! Soda and vending machines can also be found in Langston.

Gunzenhauser Hall

Gunz Hall was closed for Summer and Fall 2011 for a series of extensive renovations. For the 2014-2015 academic year, Gunz will be a coed residence hall for predominantly female upper-class and male upper-class residents. Gunz Hall offers suite style living in which a resident shares a room with a roommate and shares a full bathroom with the two residents in the adjoining room.

Gunz Hall – 14’9″ X 11’9″ / (Window Dimensions (2): 57″W X 54 ½”L)

Gunz is coed by suite, so there are not males and females sharing a suite, but there are males and females on the same floor. Gunz is comprised of 3 small floors that each house between 8 and 16 residents. Each floor has a lounge with a flat panel TV and the main lounge on the first floor offers a fireplace for student use.

Washers and dryers (free of charge to residents) are located on the main level along with a full kitchen area (available for student use) and a soda machine. This building is also handicapped accessible and offers a chair lift up to the main level. Gunz Hall is kept locked 24 hours a day and residents gain access through a secure key swipe card system.

Ivy Hall

Ivy Hall is a new residence hall that just opened in January 2012. The rooms in Ivy Hall are the most spacious on campus. For the 2014-2015 academic year, Ivy Hall will house 3 of our Greek organizations and 2 wings of upper-class male or upper-class female residents. There are between 17 and 21 residents in each wing that collectively share a large community restroom. Each wing in Ivy Hall has a small study lounge plus a larger social lounge with a flat panel TV. Ivy Hall also has a media room on the upper level that has media:scape technology perfect for group project work.

Washers and dryers (free of charge to residents) are located in the lower level along with a full kitchen (available for student use), eating area, and additional lounge space. This building has soda machines, an elevator, and is also handicapped accessible. Ivy Hall is kept locked 24 hours a day and students gain access through a secure key swipe card system.

What is provided in my room?

All residents, regardless of residence hall, are provided with a bed frame, mattress, chest, desk, bookcase, chair, and closet. The furniture is all moveable (with the exception of the closets in some halls) and residents can arrange the room any way they wish. However, no furniture may be removed from the room at any time. The beds can be bunked, low lofted, or high lofted (limited quantities) in all buildings except Langston Hall.

Each room has cable access, Ethernet access, and wi-fi. Landline phone access is available in lounge areas only. Residence halls with community bathrooms offer lockers in the bathroom for student use to store toiletries. Residents are welcome to bring a padlock to use on a locker, if they choose.
