Professor of Biology
Office: VB 6
Ph.D., Microbial Genetics, University of Cincinnati, 1988
Over the last several years I was/am a major editor for leading textbooks in Immunology and Genetics. My doctoral research was in DNA repair; I have also conducted research on the genetics and physiology of polycystic kidney disease for University of IL College of Medicine at Peoria.
My classes cover the forefront and historically important discoveries in immunology, genetics, microbiology, anatomy and physiology. I enjoy advising the students towards their pre-professional goals in nursing, medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, and physical therapy.
I have been called on to teach Immunology and Human Genetics by several regional schools including Methodist College of Nursing (2010—present) and University of IL College of Medicine—Peoria (2002–2009). I am also Community Scientific Officer on the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria.
I am active on the Board of Directors of Peoria Hebrew Day School.
