Susan Schwab Duke ’69 retired from teaching children with special needs. She has been writing short story fiction and has been published in several journals. English classes at EC led the way for Susan. She resides in East Peoria, IL.


Mike Boles ’93 has been appointed as Sr. National and Regional Account Manager with GROWMARK, INC. In his role he is responsible for providing all GROWMARK energy products (fuel, oils, propane and DEF) to large multi-site companies with energy products distributed through the FS Member Companies. Mike resides in Eureka, IL with his wife Cheri Burton Boles ’95 and their children, Jaxson, Mason and Makia.

Chris Kilbride ’98 Superintendent of the Ritenour School District in St. Louis County, MO., was selected for membership in the Missouri/Kansas Superintendent’s Forum. The Forum is made up of 50 Superintendents from Missouri and Kansas. Chris and his wife Sally reside in Webster Groves, MO with son Declan and daughter Sadie.

Heather McCullough Nielsen ’98 and her husband Neil announce the birth of their twins, Rylie and Ryker, born on Nov. 5, 2013. Heather is a Licensure Officer/Initial Adviser for the University of Illinois at Springfield. They reside in Chatham, IL.


Joe Chianakas ’01 accepted a job teaching communication at Illinois Central College, after ten years of teaching English at Metamora High School in Metamora, IL. Since Eureka, he has earned two master’s degrees. He credits the amazing teachers at Eureka for his passion to teach and learn in and out of the classroom. In addition to teaching communication, he is a certified fitness instructor who teaches Turbo Kick and P90X at the Illinois Central College CougarPlex, and he teaches traditional martial arts for the Cougar Karate Club, an Illinois Central College student organization.

Adam Howe ’12 is an agent for Shelter Insurance in Monticello, IL.
