Melick Library Homecoming Book Sale

Eureka College’s Melick Library, located at the corner of College Avenue and Darst Street, will hold its annual book sale from 1 to 10 p.m. Oct. 4, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Oct. 5 and 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Oct. 6 during the college’s homecoming activities.
Hardcover books will cost $1 and paperbacks will cost 50 cents. Dvds will cost $2 each and cds will cost $1. A bag sale will be held all day on Saturday. The cost will be $3-a-bag or two bags for $5.
There will be thousands of fiction and non-fiction items for sale, with the areas of Art, Music, Theatre, Literature, History, Science, Sociology, Psychology, and Political Science well-represented. There will be hundreds of cds with the areas of doowop, Jazz, Broadway musicals, classical composers and operas well-represented. There will also be specially priced collections of early 20th century sheet music, art prints/posters, and maps this year which will be excluded from Saturday’s bag sale.
The library is currently accepting donations of gently used books and audio-visual materials for the sale and for possible addition to the library’s collection. Items in bags or boxes labeled “book sale” may be dropped off at the circulation desk during regular library hours.
