The Uniquely Eureka Promise
Eureka College is committed to our State of Illinois. The Uniquely Eureka Promise is a promise to assist people who reside in Illinois in a financial need, who have proven themselves successfully academically, to earn their bachelor's degree tuition free at one of the finest Liberal Arts Colleges in Illinois.

 

It's Eureka College's hope that this program will provide students financial relief and allow them to stay focused on their academic achievements without the burden of financing a full-time tuition expense.

Illinois Resident

This promise scholarship is designed to cover the remaining tuition charge for incoming students who meet the academic and financial aid requirements of the promise program.

 

Eligibility Qualifications for the Illinois Eureka Promise

 

  • 2.8 cumulative GPA or higher – if transferring 12 or more credits from other colleges, the GPA requirement will be based on the 12 or more transferrable credits.

  • A valid FAFSA® (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) with EFC of 1,000 or less
    (EFC score determines financial need for the program) To complete a FAFSA® visit: https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa

  • If selected for FAFSA® verification or have any conflicting information on the form, complete all required documentation to the Office of Financial Aid by May 1st 

  • Eligible to receive the State of Illinois MAP grant and federal PELL grant.

  • Pursuing 1st Bachelor’s Degree - not offered for 2nd degree or certificate programs

  • Full-time degree seeking student – not offered for part-time enrollment - enrollment of 15 credit hours a semester ensures full Illinois MAP grant amount and graduation timeline. 

  • Required to file a FAFSA® each year by the priority date of December 1st to be considered for the State of Illinois MAP grant.

  • Meet all deadline dates: recommend EC admissions application submitted prior to May 1st for entering semester of Fall semester or January 3rd for Spring. Apply to EC at https://www.eureka.edu/admissions-and-financial-aid/apply-today

  • Accept and use all federal PELL and MAP grant each year of the program before Eureka College makes up the difference for tuition cost 

 

The program is structured to cover the student’s Eureka flat-tuition charge for fall and spring semesters that is not covered by the student’s Federal PELL grant and State of Illinois MAP grant, and any other outside funding. If a student exhausts their life-time eligibility for Federal PELL grant and/or State of Illinois MAP grant funding prior to matriculation (graduation), or loses partial funding as determined from their first semester in the program, it is the student’s responsibility to cover the amount of lost PELL and MAP grant funds.

 

It is the student’s responsibility to cover any non-covered cost, such as but not limited to: fees, books, supplies, room & meal plans if living on campus. Students can utilize our college payment plans or research student loan options to cover non-covered expenses.

Out-of-State Resident

This promise scholarship is designed to cover the remaining tuition charge for incoming students who meet the academic and financial aid requirements of the promise program.

 

Eligibility Qualifications for the Out-Of-State Eureka Promise Program

 

  • 2.8 high school cumulative GPA or higher

  • Graduate of eligible Out-of-State High School (HS listing below)

  • A valid FAFSA® (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) with EFC of 1,000 or less
    (EFC # determines financial need for the program) To complete a FAFSA® visit: https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa

  • If selected for FAFSA® verification or have any conflicting information on the form, complete all required documentation to the Office of Financial Aid by May 1st 

  • Eligible to receive the federal PELL grant
    * Review the Federal PELL grant eligibility requirements at: https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/types/grants-scholarships/pell

  • Renew FAFSA® form each year  

  • Full-time degree seeking student – not offered for part-time enrollment. NOTE: If student enrolls as a part-time student in the entering semester or subsequent semesters, eligibility for promise grant is forfeited.  

  • Meet all deadline dates: recommend admissions application submitted prior to May 1st for entering semester of Fall semester or December 1st for Spring. Apply to EC at https://www.eureka.edu/admissions-and-financial-aid/apply-today

  • Accept and use all federal PELL grant each year of the program before Eureka College makes up the difference for tuition cost

  • Kankakee Valley High School (Wheatfield, IN),
  • Ritenour High School (St. Louis, MO),
  • Any Hazelwood School District High School (St. Louis Metro, MO),
  • International High School of New Orleans (LA)
