PEORIA, Ill. — To kick off spring, Eureka College communication majors have partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Peoria to host a dodgeball tournament. The fundraising event, Donate to Dodge, will happen on Saturday, April 22 at Quest Charter Academy High School located at 2503 N. University St. in Peoria.
Participation in the tournament is open to the community. Registration is $60 per team, for a team of six. All proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Peoria. The registration deadline to participate is Friday, April 14.
For their capstone project, communication majors, under the supervision of Dr. Amanda Frioli, created the event as a way to fundraise for the nonprofit organization. This is the first year for the event.
The students are working directly with Lynn Obery, Assistant to Director of Program Development for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Peoria.
Participants can register in person at the Boys and Girls Club on 806 E. Kansas in Peoria, or they may contact Lynn Obery at 309-685-6007 ext. 124. Direct donations to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Peoria are also welcomed.
The Boys and Girls Club is a national organization. Their primary mission is to enable young people, especially those in at-risk circumstances, to realize their full potential. The organization serves more than 4 million children annually. The Peoria location supports 1,500 youths ages 6 to 18 by providing character development, educational enhancement, and career exploration opportunities.
