College years captured in exhibit by EC art student

Photography and paintings are part of an art exhibit by Eureka College senior Kristin Needham of Pekin that will be on display May 16 through Aug. 28 in Burgess Hall Art Gallery at Eureka College. An opening reception will be from 1 to 3 p.m. May 16 in the gallery. It is free and open to the public.

"Family Tradition"  by Eureka College senior Kristin Needham

A painting titled “Family Tradition” is included in an art exhibit by Eureka College senior Kristin Needham that will be on display at the Eureka College art gallery May 16 through Aug. 28.

The exhibit titled “The Journey” features a dozen photographs that capture memories of Needham’s college years. The exhibit also includes paintings of various subjects.

Needham is scheduled to receive a bachelor’s degree in art this month. She plans to work in the fields of graphic design or advertising and continue taking photographs. She is a 2010 graduate of Pekin Community High School and a daughter of Larry and Barb Needham.

The Eureka College gallery is located on the third floor of Burgess Memorial Hall, 300 E. College Ave. It is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment by calling (309) 467-6866. Admission is free.
