Eureka College Welcome Week helps new students transition to life at college.  Whether a resident student, student athlete, or a commuter student, the week of activities provides fun, entertainment, and, yes, lots of information.

  • Campus Map - From dorms to academic buildings, this will help you get around on campus.
  • Housing & Residence Life - RA information and when the dorms close for breaks.
  • Lingo - Colleges have some different lingo and this will help you understand what your faculty are talking about.
  • Red Devil Depot - Pick up your books from the Depot.  Just down the hall are the mailboxes and Post Office.

All new students are part of the procession and participate in a traditional Ivy Ceremony during Opening Convocation.

10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Opening Convocation

At Opening Convocation, the new class of first year and transfer students is presented to the College. Each new student places a sprig of ivy into a basket, symbolic of that which the individual student brings to the campus. The ivy, grown over the years into a continuous vine, will connect the lives of faculty, staff, and students. At graduation, the students are cut from the ivy chain, symbolic of the student's departure from this community to enter a new life. It is hoped that the student will plant the ivy to grow in a new place, beginning a new life, enriched by the Eureka College experience.
