Eureka College Partners with Apogee to Enhance On-Campus Wifi
EUREKA — When Eureka College students arrive on campus in August, they will experience a completely updated wifi network.
To make this happen, Eureka College has partnered with Apogee, a technology and support company that provides colleges and universities with progressive solutions to keep all students connected and on track to reach their full potential.
“Dependable wifi has long been a challenge,” Eureka College President Dr. Jamel Santa Cruze Wright said. “Students have had difficulties with its speed, its inability to stream games and videos, and in some cases, its inability for the student to wirelessly connect to our internet altogether.”
In a recent student body survey, 76 percent of the respondents said they were very dissatisfied or dissatisfied with the service. That, Wright said, is going to change.
As a result of this partnership, students will have enough bandwidth (50 MBps download/10 Mbps upload per device) to support up to seven devices per student, access to a 24-hour help line, assistance in connecting their devices and logging on to the network, and on-site technical support to fix any problems encountered.
These exciting innovations are the latest in Eureka’s ongoing mission to cultivate excellence in learning, service, and leadership through the mutual development of intellect and character to enable graduates to lead meaningful lives and have successful careers.
