Melissa King to Present Senior Art Show “Feelism Over Realism”
EUREKA – On Monday, Eureka College’s Melissa King will host a closing reception for her senior art show in Burgess Memorial Gallery from 4-7 p.m.
The exhibition is free to attend, but masks are required and the max occupancy is 10 people at a time.
“Feelism Over Realism” is a collection of abstract paintings from King’s junior and senior years of attending Eureka College, featuring dynamic colors, lines and shapes. The images in the show focus on inspiring complex feelings such as calmness, absence and anxiety.
King, who moved from Iowa to Pekin, Illinois, at a young age, is a senior art student at EC. She has always had a natural aptitude for the arts and has channeled her life experiences into her works.
