Eureka College was founded by abolitionists from Kentucky who were members of a religious movement known as the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and were committed to providing young people a broad, liberal education. These pioneers believed in an education infused with values as a basis for leadership. Chartered by the Illinois Legislature in 1855, Eureka was the first college in the state and third in the nation to admit men and women on an equal basis. Eureka College was designated by the National Park Service as a Campus Historic District in the National Register of Historic Places in June 2010.

ECTV and WEUR Announce 2023-2024 Eureka College Men's and Women's Basketball Broadcast Schedule

EUREKA, IL – Summer gives way to fall, and fall means college basketball. Eureka College’s Red Devils are preparing for another season of NCAA Division III men’s and women’s basketball. Coach Chip Wilde begins his 17th season at the helm of the Red Devils men’s team, while newly appointed head coach Mike Hedrick assumes the reins of the women’s program. Once again, ECTV and WEUR Radio team up to bring fans a full slate of home and away games beginning with the season’s non-conference schedule all the way through St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play.

For 2023-2024, ECTV and WEUR will team up to air the entire regular season schedule of men’s basketball games. The stations will air 21 (out of 25) regular season women’s games. All home games will air live on ECTV. WEUR Radio will provide live coverage of each scheduled away game. The season opens on WEUR Radio on Wednesday, November 8, at 7:00 p.m., when the Red Devils travel to Aurora University.

Eureka College senior and national award-winning sports broadcaster Spencer Davis (Emden, IL) leads the ECTV and WEUR broadcast team, providing play-by-play for the men’s games. Joining Davis will be EC senior Joshua Howard (Springfield, IL), and juniors Kareem Burnett (Bellwood, IL), Levi Taylor (Princeville, IL), and Andrew Schulte (Summerfield, IL), providing a mixture of play-by-play and color commentary duties.
