Eureka College performing Mora V. Harris’s play Space Girl
EUREKA — Eureka College is taking on Mora V. Harris’s play Space Girl. This science fiction comedy is about a 16-year-old alien from the planet Zlagdor trying to fit in in a whole new world, planet Earth.
Arugula Suarez just wants to fit in. But it’s not easy when you’re a 16-year-old alien from the plant Zlagdor. Stuck in a world where the only things that make sense are Roller Derby and salad, Arugula and her father, Nancy, must find out what it means to be human before time runs out for planet Earth. Arugula and her father Nancy travel to Earth to convince their superiors to save the planet from climate change. The play explorers' themes of identity, humanity, and the complexities of fitting in when you’re from a different planet.
The quirkiness, comedy, and a just a bit of absurdity in Space Girl makes it a play you won’t want to miss.
