

Eureka College Music Department Announces Spring 2026 Performance Schedule
EUREKA, IL. – The Eureka College Music Department is excited to announce its slate of spring musical performance.
Ensembles:
On Friday, March 20 at 7 p.m. in Becker Auditorium, Eureka’s Chorale and Chambers under the direction of Dr. John P. Rakes, Director of Choral Activities, will host its Spring Concert-Breath of Spring. The concert will include a wide variety of music to celebrate the first day of Spring and will feature a performance of Five Hebrew Love Songs by Eric Whitacre with guest violinist Stephanie Cannon.
The Jazz Ensemble Concert will take place on Friday, April 10 at 7 p.m. in McCallister. The Jazz Ensemble concert is directed by Michael Hull, Instructor of Guitar. They will perform a variety of folk, jazz, and popular music from all over the world.
On Friday, April 24 at 7 p.m., there will be a Chorale and Opera Workshop Concert in the Becker Auditorium. The Opera & Lyric Theater Workshop is directed by Adriana Martínez, Associate Professor of Music. The concert will include scenes, solos, and duets from opera and musical theater, joined by Chorale. Dr. Rakes and Dr. Martínez will also perform in selected scenes, and Mr. Hull and his ensemble will join the grand finale.
Then, on Thursday, April 30 at 2 p.m., the Eureka College Music Department will wrap up the school year with the Semester Studio Recital in McCallister.
EC Soloist Performances:
The junior and senior recitals will include a variety of classical, traditional, popular music and musical theaters from all eras in multiple languages.
Junior Baritone, Noel Thomas, will have his recital performance on Sunday, March 22 at 3 p.m. in McCallister.
On Sunday, April 19 at 3p.m., Katherine Fontaine, mezzo-soprano will hold her Senior Recital in McCallister.
Lunch & Listen Opportunities:
In the Terrill Rooms at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3 and Monday, April 3, audiences can preview our Chorale and Chambers Spring Concert and the Opera Workshop.
