Eureka College was founded by abolitionists from Kentucky who were members of a religious movement known as the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and were committed to providing young people a broad, liberal education. These pioneers believed in an education infused with values as a basis for leadership. Chartered by the Illinois Legislature in 1855, Eureka was the first college in the state and third in the nation to admit men and women on an equal basis. Eureka College was designated by the National Park Service as a Campus Historic District in the National Register of Historic Places in June 2010.

Eureka College Proudly Announces the Dean’s List Honorees for the Spring 2026 Semester

The Eureka College Spring 2026 Dean’s List features 141 recipients. The list includes students from 60 Illinois communities, 17 states (AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, HI, ID, IN, KY, MI, MN, MO, NC, NV, TN, TX, and WI), and one country (Philippines).

Local communities had multiple representatives. Washington had 14 students on the Dean’s List, followed by Peoria (10), East Peoria (7), Metamora (5), Morton (5), Bloomington (3), Washburn (3), El Paso (2), Macomb (2), Normal (2), Quincy (2), Sullivan (2), and Teutopolis (2).

To be eligible for the Dean’s List, students must achieve a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, be full-time, in good standing and complete at least nine semester hours of graded coursework.
