Eureka College was founded by abolitionists from Kentucky who were members of a religious movement known as the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and were committed to providing young people a broad, liberal education. These pioneers believed in an education infused with values as a basis for leadership. Chartered by the Illinois Legislature in 1855, Eureka was the first college in the state and third in the nation to admit men and women on an equal basis. Eureka College was designated by the National Park Service as a Campus Historic District in the National Register of Historic Places in June 2010.

Michael W. Hull, Guitar Faculty at Eureka will direct the Guitar Ensembles form Bradley and ICC in a program featuring the music of Bach, Morley, Dowland and much more. Evelyne Hull (2019 Gold Medalist in the Royal Conservatory Certificate Program) and her brother Nikolai Hull are two of the featured sololists. The groups will combine to perform two vocal pieces, Hymn of Acxiom, by Vienna Teng and Morten Lauridsen's beloved piece Dirait-on, from Les Chansons des Roses. Over the years, Mr. Hull's students have performed at the prestigious annual Mid-America Guitar Ensemble Festival and have played in the master classes of the world's most celebrated guitarists, such as Jason Vieaux, Ana Vidovic, Johannes Moller and more.
