RESEARCH INTERESTS:
My research interests include thinking and reasoning biases in both basic and applied research problems. My current research collaboration concerns beliefs and biases involved in pseudoscientific ideas, such as type-style personality tests.
TEACHING INTERESTS:
My favorite courses to teach are research methods and cognitive psychology; however, I love psychology in general, so some of my favorite courses I’ve taught have been outside of my doctoral specialty, such as social psychology.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY:
Professional organizations:
APS
APA
Cognitive Science Society
Psychonomic Society
Society for Teaching of Psychology (APA Div 2)
For conference presentations and publications, see my CV or website
UNIQUELY EUREKA EXPERIENCE:
What drew me to Eureka was my desire to teach at a small liberal arts college that focuses on the full learning experience of the students and emphasizes the liberal arts principles of critical thinking and a holistic education.
ABOUT:
I’m a bit of a nerd for all things superheroes and science fiction (e.g., Star Trek, Star Wars). I like to watch movies and TV shows with my family: my wife, Astrid, my son, Oliver, and my daughter, Elliot. I have a blue belt in Israeli self-defense, Krav Maga, another passion of mine. I also produce a podcast that blends psychology and movie called CinemaPsych Podcast and make tutorial videos on myYouTube channel for students and researchers around the world.
