Aaron Karstetter '22, was recently recognized as "Coach of the Year" in Zurich, Switzerland by the Swiss Baseball & Softball Federation (SBSF).  This is a prestigious award spanning across all SBSF baseball & softball coaching ranks including youth, adult, and national teams.  Aaron was recognized for his significant contributions and success with youth programs and teams.  Aaron's Geneva Dragon U12 Team were 2022 Swiss National Champions, his U15 Team a playoff semifinalist, and Aaron also led the Switzerland Little League Team in the Little League Africa & Regional qualifiers held in Moergestel, Netherlands.   

 

Aaron and his family have resided in Geneva, Switzerland since 2019 where he is employed by Caterpillar as CFO for EAME Distribution.

Tracy Ahrens' 92 earned two awards in the 2023 Illinois Woman’s Press Association Mate E. Palmer Communications Contest.

 

She received First Place in the category of Creative Verse/Single Poem for my poem she wrote about my uncle’s death and the area in Michigan where he lived and loved. The poem, entitled “Wind and water” now goes on to the National Federation of Press Women contest.

 

Next, she won Third Place in the category of Specialty Articles/Personal Essay for a story she wrote about losing her sweet dog, Angel. That piece is entitled “The perennial in my garden of life: An Angel blooms.”
