One Eureka

Athletic Director Sara Shaw is focused on creating a program that exhibits excellence and leadership on the field and in the classroom. The coaches that lead the various teams are all coaching at Eureka College because they believe that they can prepare each athlete to win in every aspect of their lives and to enter their professional careers prepared for success.

Your support during Giving Tuesday to support your favorite team through the Eureka College Athletic Fund enables AD Shaw and the coaches to equip student athletes with the tools to become leaders and productive citizens. This year, please support students on your favorite team here. Learn more about the coaches and their winning ways here.

You can get the schedule for all the games and matches here. We hope we see you soon and thank you for supporting student athletes/leaders

Meet Our Coaches

Eric Biehl

Men's and Women's Wrestling Head Coach

"I enjoy coaching here because we are very personable and affordable. I believe we are heading in a direction to be more recognized.

My goal for the wrestlers is to see them win the small. We focus on the process over the results and that allows us to compete at a high level that is free of anxiety and pressure. My athletes don't take shortcuts because of this mindset and become better overall human beings when they buy in and believe in the process of who they are becoming on and off of the mat."
Mike Hedrick

Women's Basketball Head Coach

"The opportunity to coach college athletes that come to campus as individuals and help them grow into a team that sacrifices their own personal success for that of the group is special.

Our Goal in our program is for our student athletes to identify as winners and leave here with the confidence to take on the world."
Juell Hodges

Head Women's Softball Coach

"Coaching at Eureka is an incredibly rewarding experience. With a small, community-based campus, it allows me to directly support student-athletes in their academic and athletic journey. My goal is to foster an environment where student-athletes can grow physically, emotionally, and spiritually, and feel empowered and inspired to make a significant, positive impact to our world."
Chris Robinson

Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach

"Eureka College had an incredible impact on me during my time here as a student. My EC experience helped make me a better husband, father, and person in general. Coaching here allows me to share my experience with my student-athletes, essentially paying forward what I got out of my time here.

I want each of my student-athletes to have balance while they are here. I want them to grow personally, academically, and be prepared for the next steps in their journey post Eureka College. At the same time, I want them to be able to continue to compete in a sport they love and accomplish their athletic goals. My role here is to support them as they create their individual experience."
Reece Scragg

Women's Soccer Head Coach

"I believe in the value of the entire experience at Eureka College. Our student athletes are able to develop in the classroom and on the field. They learn valuable life lessons and skills during their time here, and I am happy to be a part of that process and have a big role in their development as future leaders in their communities."
Randy Starks

Football Head Coach

"I enjoy coaching here because this is a community that is family oriented. The student athletes are very dedicated, and the staff and administration are very supportive. We have a common goal, which is helping the students become a better version of themselves. Coaching the student athletes is a blessing but witnessing their success and growth in the classroom brings more joy to me as a coach! I want my student athletes to graduate and pursue their career in whatever field they develop passion for. "
Noah Suarez

Baseball Head Coach

"I enjoy coaching at Eureka College because I can share my passion for the game of baseball and I can help my players grow. I can instill valuable life lessons through the game of baseball .

My goal for all of my students is for them to receive a great education, earn their degree, and win as many baseball games as possible."
Candace Van Bogaert

Women's Volleyball Head Coach & NCAA SWA

"I enjoy coaching at EC because I love the small school atmosphere and the relationships you can build. My goal for my student-athletes is to enjoy playing the sport you love while getting a great education in the process."
Chip Wilde

Head Men's Basketball Coach, Golf Coach

“ I’ve enjoyed coaching at Eureka College for the last 18 years because it is like a second home to me and my family. The administration, the students, the faculty & staff, the alumni and donors have made me feel this way for a very long time and that’s why I have nothing but appreciation and love for EC. The goals for our students in the men’s basketball program have never changed through the years. We recruit, we retain, we graduate students all while trying to give them a great experience and compete/win at the highest level possible.”
Ryan Woodside

Men's Soccer Head Coach

"My favorite part about coaching here is getting to watch the lifelong relationships forming between players on the team. There is a special bond between our guys that they will carry with them throughout their whole lives, and that has always been my ultimate goal for them. We often talk about building a special program to be a part of, and there are really two parts to that, one, becoming a highly competitive, highly successful program on the field and, two, developing a family of sincere, high-character men that support and sharpen each other."
