I came to Eureka College as the Access Services Coordinator having had two years’experience working as a student assistant within the Technical Services area of Melick Library. In this capacity, I worked on book cataloging/processing, serials processing, invoicing, and some minor book repair. I also assisted with circulation and inter-library loan processing when needed.
Current research interests include library trends, technology trends within the library space, book and e-book usage data, reading trends within the YA (Young Adult) genres.
I serve with the co-ed service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega. In this capacity, I have served as a chapter advisor for the Alpha Eta Lambda chapter here at Eureka College; I have also been elected to serve multiple terms as the Section Chair for Alpha Phi Omega Section 50 (incorporating 8 chapters in central/eastern Illinois). I also do some volunteer work at the local Girl Scout Office.
I first came to Eureka as a student in 2006 and I just never left! So many great things happened to me on this campus: I got my first job outside of my family’s business as a student at Eureka; I met the love of my life here when I was a freshman; I started working here full time right after graduation and have been here ever since. I am who I am today because of Eureka.
I’ve been married to my wonderful husband Jason (whom I met on Eureka’s campus) since January 2010. I have two cats, Bowser and Chowder, and I spend most of my free time reading.
