Eureka College was founded by abolitionists from Kentucky who were members of a religious movement known as the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and were committed to providing young people a broad, liberal education. These pioneers believed in an education infused with values as a basis for leadership. Chartered by the Illinois Legislature in 1855, Eureka was the first college in the state and third in the nation to admit men and women on an equal basis. Eureka College was designated by the National Park Service as a Campus Historic District in the National Register of Historic Places in June 2010.

TEACHING INTERESTS:

Prior to Eureka, I taught at the middle school/high school level for 9 years. I teach a mix of education and special education courses. I love education, special education, math, theater, and dance.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY:

I enjoy helping K-12 districts find new ways to implement successful Response to Intervention/Multi-Tiered System of Support structures into their schools as well as training on various interventions that can be utilized in these structures.

UNIQUELY EUREKA EXPERIENCE:

Eureka is my alma mater. I grew to love EC as a student. The small campus makes it easy to get involved in a variety of organizations, build lifelong friendships, and feel like part of a family.
